Webexpenses Achieves Carbon Neutrality in 2024

Webexpenses, a leading global provider of expense management and invoice processing solutions, is proud to announce that it has achieved carbon neutrality for the third consecutive year in 2024. This milestone underscores the company's ongoing commitment to sustainability and its efforts to reduce its environmental impact across its operations in the UK, US, and Australia.

In 2024, Webexpenses expanded its carbon-friendly initiatives, building on the success of previous years. Key actions included the adoption of renewable energy sources at its UK headquarters, the expansion of its electric vehicle fleet, and enhanced waste reduction programs. These measures, along with continued employee engagement in green practices such as the cycle-to-work scheme, have significantly contributed to reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

Andrew May, Chief Executive Officer of Webexpenses, comments, “Achieving carbon neutrality for the third year in a row is a significant accomplishment for Webexpenses. This demonstrates our dedication to environmental responsibility and our commitment to continuous improvement. We are excited about the future and will continue to innovate in our sustainability practices as we look forward to further reducing our carbon footprint in 2025 and beyond.”

In collaboration with Carbon Neutral Britain, Webexpenses has successfully offset 198.44 Tonnes of CO2 emissions in 2024. This offset will help fund vital reforestation projects and renewable energy initiatives worldwide, including:

  • Nicaforest Reforestation Program – Nicaragua
  • Reforestation on Degraded Land – Uruguay
  • South West Australia Reforestation – Australia
  • Andes Mountains Hydro Power – Chile
  • Huaneng Changyi Wind Farm Project – China

In addition to achieving its carbon neutrality, Webexpenses continues to support its clients in meeting their sustainability goals. The company's innovative Carbon Tracking feature, integrated into its expense management platform, enables organisations to measure and report on travel-related carbon emissions. This tool helps businesses identify trends and implement strategies to reduce their environmental impact.
