Webexpenses Selects SpecialEffect as 2021 Charity Partner

UK based finance software provider sponsors local charity to help improve the lives of those with disabilities through gaming technology

Oxford, UK (23, February 2021) - Webexpenses, a global provider of expense and invoice management software, has announced gaming charity SpecialEffect as the recipient of its 2021 charity sponsorship programme.

The Oxfordshire charity uses innovative technology to help people with physical disabilities to play video games for fun, friendship and inclusion, and to support their rehabilitation.

Webexpenses will be sponsoring SpecialEffect throughout the year with a number of events aimed at raising funds and spreading awareness of the life-enhancing work the charity provides.

Jamie Stalker, Sales Manager for Webexpenses said:

"At a time when support is more important than ever, we’re delighted to be partnering with Special Effect for 2021. As a software provider ourselves, we share the same goals and ethos of improving lives through the use of technology.

We’re really looking forward to getting involved with events and activities, to raise funds and awareness for such a fantastic charity who provide incredible work for those who need it.”

Ellie Dimmock, Fundraising Events Coordinator for SpecialEffect said:

“We are delighted that Webexpenses has chosen SpecialEffect as their charity partner for 2021. We’re really looking forward to working with the team to make a difference to the lives of severely disabled people in Oxfordshire and across the UK. The support will provide a huge boost to us, not only in terms of fundraising donations but also in raising awareness of our work within the company and wider community, something that is incredibly important to us as a local charity with demand for our services continuing to grow.”

Webexpenses chose the charity after an internal survey found that 61.5% of its employees wanted to support a local charity. Based in Charlbury, SpecialEffect is just a few miles away from Webexpenses’ UK headquarters in Witney, Oxfordshire.

The Webexpenses’ team will be starting the campaign by getting involved with SpecialEffect’s forthcoming GameBlast event, the UK’s biggest annual charity gaming marathon. They will be among thousands of gamers taking part in a host of gaming challenges across the weekend of February 26-28.

SpecialEffect

SpecialEffect works with people of any age within the UK who wish to play video games but are prevented from doing so by a physical disability. They use technology such as eye-tracking monitors and specially adapted controllers that are designed to meet the needs of each user.

Their innovative EyeGaze Games website was recently featured on the BBC. It provides a range of free games that can be controlled using an eye-tracking device and allows people across the globe to compete against each other.

Webexpenses

Webexpenses provides a range of finance automation products with more than 300,000 global users of its award-winning expense management software, recently named among G2s ‘Best Finance Products for 2021’.
