Webexpenses announces ‘Miles of May’ fundraising campaign for Headway Oxfordshire

Expense management provider goes the extra mile to raise vital funds for local brain injury charity during the COVID-19 pandemic

Oxford, UK (May 12th, 2020) - Today global expense management software, Webexpenses announces a new fundraising campaign to raise money for local charity Headway Oxfordshire.

The fundraising activity - called ‘Miles of May’ - involves Webexpenses employees walking, cycling, or running as many miles as they can throughout May 2020.

Individuals will donate £5 to take part and set their own personal targets to aim for. Miles can be achieved through a combination of activities such as walking, running, or cycling. All miles can be recorded and tracked using fitness tracking apps on mobile devices. Friends and family of those taking part will be invited to sponsor for additional fundraising.

‘Miles of May’ will take place across all three of Webexpenses offices: Oxfordshire, UK, Austin Texas, North America, and Brisbane, Australia.

‘‘Charities of all sizes have seen a decline in their donations throughout lockdown,’’ stated Adam Reynolds, Webexpenses CEO, “so this fundraising will provide a vital boost when it's really needed. Miles of May falls within the permitted daily exercise allowance during lockdown so we’re using this opportunity to make a positive impact and raise money.”

Marketing and Events Officer, Sharelle Holdsworth, commented: “We are thrilled that Webexpenses are taking on Miles of May to raise vital funds for those affected by brain injury at this time. We need companies like Webexpenses more than ever to help to continue our services during the Covid-19 Crisis. All funds raised will go towards our Emergency Food Drop Service, our remote telephone service, and providing online activities and rehabilitation sessions via Zoom. We appreciate Webexpenses support and wish them luck with Miles of May.”

The latest initiative is an extension of Webexpenses’ pledge to support Not-for-Profits during COVID-19. In April 2020, the company announced they would provide their expense software at no charge for six months to the first 50 UK and first 50 UK not-for-profits who signed up. Expense software helps not-for-profit organisations optimise their existing resources by lowering operational costs by eliminating manual expense processing and automating spend control.

Headway Oxfordshire supports people who have been affected by brain injury in the Oxfordshire community. The Activity and Rehabilitation Centre, based in Kennington, acts as a safe-haven for people to come along to improve their speech, memory, and mobility, as well as gain practical and tangible skills.
