Miles in May 2021: 10,000 miles for SpecialEffect | Webexpenses

It’s that time again! A Webexpenses Miles in May for our chosen charity partner.

Webexpenses’ chosen charity is Special Effect - a charity that ignites fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical abilities by helping them enjoy video games. Special Effect use technology including modified joypads and eye-control to find a unique way for people to play to the very best of their abilities.

Nick Streeter, Fundraiser at Special Effect says,

"We are incredibly grateful to Webexpenses for choosing SpecialEffect as their charity partner. The efforts of the team and their sponsors will make a life changing difference by helping people with disabilities to play video games with their friends and families”.

Last year, the Webexpenses team tallied up over 6,800 Miles in May: Over 1000 more than it’s goal of 5,800. This year, the goal is 10301 miles: The distance from Our Witney, UK office to our office in Brisbane, Australia.

The team is striving to complete their individual targets whilst also working together to reach over 10,000 miles and raise money for Special Effect. Webexpenses are actively keeping the momentum going by joining the Webexpenses Strava group which allows team members to track miles, share photos and reward one another’s achievements. Which we’ve opened up this year for the public to join.

So how can you get involved?

There are three ways for you to get involved in Webexpenses Miles in May for Special Effect:

  1. Follow us on Linkedin and Twitter for Miles in May updates.
  2. Head over to our Just Giving campaign to donate to Special Effect.
  3. Join our “Webexpenses Miles in May 21” group on Strava; encourage family and friends to donate once you’ve reached your miles goals.
