Webexpenses joins UK’s smartest

Webexpenses was celebrating in the luxurious setting of the O2 arena last night at a special ceremony held for Britain’s top 100 smartest companies.

We were joined by some of Britain’s brightest and most innovative businesses at the 2012 Smarta 100 awards night. It’s an event, backed by Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Deborah Meaden, and which is run by mobile phone provider, O2.

Each year a panel of Smarta judges selects 100 companies which they believe represent Britain’s brightest and sparkiest businesses. They have developed a reputation for spotting those companies, which go on to find major success.

The overall winner of the Smarta 100 award is based on a public vote with this year’s top spot going to Kigu.

Sanjay Parekh, Managing Director of webexpenses, said: “It was a great night and an honour for webexpenses to be alongside so many exciting and impressive companies.

“A big thanks to everyone who voted for us. We didn’t manage to win the overall award but just being shortlisted as one of Britain’s smartest 100 businesses is a real achievement and a testament to all the hard work by the webexpenses team. We would like to say congratulations to Kigu”

The evening, held at the Proud2 venue at the O2 in Greenwich, was a chance for the winning companies to network and mingle with some of the UK’s top entrepreneurs.

Celebrity backer, Deborah Meaden, said: “This year’s Smarta 100 showcased the fantastic breadth of businesses making waves in the UK business scene.”
