Webexpenses joins Britain’s brightest companies in celebration

Webexpenses has been hand-picked as one of Britain's top 250 fastest growing companies. We have been invited to join some of the country’s most exciting companies for a prestigious celebration of British business.

We have been selected by Lord Young, former adviser to the Prime Minister, and Sir Terry Leahy, ex-CEO of Tesco, to be among the companies honoured at the ACCELERATE 250 event in Liverpool.

It’s being held as a way to celebrate the achievements of some of the UK’s fastest growing companies and includes a keynote speech by Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales.

Also appearing will be a host of guest speakers from a range of fields, including BBC business expert Robert Peston and General Sir Mike Jackson who commanded the British forces in Iraq.

Alongside Webexpenses will be some of Britain’s most exciting companies who make up what has been called the ‘vital 6%’ - the small cluster of companies who have managed to keep growing despite the tough economic conditions.

The invitation from ACCELERATE 250 states: “Webexpenses has been identified as one of the key drivers of the British economy, ambassadors of the so-called ‘vital 6%’ of firms that are creating jobs at a time when the UK needs them most.

“Coming from a range of sectors across the UK, each ACCELERATE 250 member has been chosen to serve as representatives of the nation’s fast-growth firms.”

Some of the other business who make up the 250 include Magic Whiteboard, who shot to fame in 2008 after being backed by two celebrity investors on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, and Lingo24, an Aberdeen based company which has grown to become one of the main online language translation services.

Rachel Gregan, Head of Marketing for webexpenses, said: “When you look at the line-up of people and companies who are involved in this event, it’s an absolute honour for us to be selected to take part.

“The growth we’ve been able to achieve is testament to the great team we have here and the focus we have kept on our core goal - to make business expenses simple.

Webexpenses was chosen to take part as a company which has seen continued growth in recent years and have now handled more than £500 million worth of expenses claims for clients throughout the world.

Mention was also made of our reputation for the highest standards of customer service with a customer retention rate of 97 percent and a client portfolio which includes Woolmark, Adecco, Museum of London and Groupon.

The event will culminate in a special gala dinner which will also see the launch of the International Festival for Business 2014. It will be taking place at Liverpool’s Arena and Convention Centre on June 27.
