Webexpenses announced as finalist for Oxfordshire Business Awards 2016

Following on from their success at the West Oxfordshire Business Awards (WOBA) in March, where they won the category for Marketing Excellence, webexpenses has now been selected as a finalist in the 2016 Oxfordshire Business Awards (OBA) for The Ridgeway Marketing Excellence Award.

The criteria for the Marketing Excellence Award is to find the organisation best able to demonstrate:

  • Clear campaign objectives and goals
  • A clear strategic plan for before, during and after the activities
  • Creative and original thinking
  • Measurable results

Our #toopolite campaign was launched last year focussing on the idea of “Britishness” and how our culture of “politeness” could be impacting businesses. Our creative thinking behind the campaign was simple yet effective, using some “British” imagery such as teapots, Union Jack flag and bunting to bring the campaign to life with our aim to add fun to a relatively ordinary topic by showing personality as well as positioning the webexpenses brand in a way that resonated with other companies.

Other finalists in the running for this prestigious award are Oxford United Football Club and Perfectly Picked.

The Oxfordshire Business Awards have been running for 22 years now, and continue to recognise local talent and businesses.

The overall winner will be announced at the 2016 Dinner that will take place on June 17th at the Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel, Sandford on Thames.

Webexpenses were shortlisted as a finalist in last year’s OBA’s for Small Business Award and are pleased to be returning this year as a finalist in a different category.

Caroline Trotman, Head of Marketing at webexpenses said:

“After winning the Marketing Excellence Award at the WOBAs this year, it is an honour to also be a finalist in this category for the OBAs. Our #toopolite campaign was launched last year and is something we are very proud of; so it is really nice to be recognised for it and the hard work that we put in to achieve our great results.

Expenses are arguably not the most exciting subject, so we love to add a bit of fun to real issues, being creative in our designs and messaging. Being a finalist in such an award category is a great achievement for us; we’re really looking forward to the attending the Dinner in June. The OBAs are such a great event. Having been there as a finalist last year, it makes me feel proud to be part of such a great business community.”

Webexpenses will be hoping to add to its proud track record of industry accolades which include being the Winner of Financial Software Provider of the Year at the Director of Finance Awards, a Finalist in Small Business Award in the Oxfordshire Business Awards last summer and most recently, winner of the West Oxfordshire Business Award for Marketing Excellence.
