Webexpenses Expense Cards are available with GBP balance accounts and can be used internationally, subject to merchant acceptance. While the cards operate across different regions, all transactions are processed in GBP. Purchases made in other currencies will be subject to conversion at the applicable Mastercard exchange rate, plus an additional 1.49% foreign exchange fee applied by Webexpenses.
Yes, our Expense Cards work with Apple and Android Wallets for seamless payments.
There is no limit on virtual cards, and additional physical cards can be reissued if lost or stolen as needed at a minimal cost.
Funding to the central balance account from an external account varies by method. Faster Payments (FPS) are nearly instantaneous, while other methods may take longer. Once funds are in the balance account, they are available based on card-specific limit rules.
Funding is transferred to the central balance account, not directly onto cards. Control over the balance account and limit rules per card is managed by an ‘Expense Cards Administrator’ designated during initial setup.
You get near real-time visibility into your spending, with authorised transactions appearing in your Webexpenses Cards dashboard immediately upon authorisation. While most transactions post quickly, all data is guaranteed to be synchronised within 24 hours of the transaction. For example, some transactions—such as TfL travel—are processed at the end of the day when TfL finalises journey details.
